A new structure is introduced with two pathways of activation for the trust’s mahi; Creative Tāmaki Makaurau focuses on supporting a stronger sector voice, building understanding of the sector’s needs, and encouraging a collaborative strategic response to those needs. Te Manawa provides strategic leadership, visionary thinking, and direction toward achieving the goals and aspirations of hapori ringatoi Māori.

Collaboration and partnerships extend the reach and resources of mahi including: sector advocacy through the advocacy platform Arts Action Now!!! encouraging engagement in significant initiatives such as the Government’s draft sector strategy, Amplify; assisting the development of a devolved funding model for the Asian Artists Fund; research and development of Te Pātaka a Māori-centred arts funding prototype; and the development of a proposed tax exemption model to better support a thriving arts sector, Systems Levers for Creative Practitioners.
