Building connections
– partnerships and collaborations, advocacy and innovation…
A continued focus on development of sector relationships and networks.
These included relationships with the Ngā Toi Advocacy Network; the Art Investors Forum (co-convened by Te Taumata with Auckland Council); the Regional Arts Network of Aotearoa (RANA); Te Ora Auaha the Creative Wellbeing Alliance Aotearoa; the regional Toi Māori network; Lagi-Maama; and the members of our creative connections network.
These relationships provided for information and insights that supported well-informed advocacy by both Te Taumata and the wider sector.
Te Taumata developed the first of its significant partnerships and collaborations. These included;
A partnership with Creative New Zealand to develop good practice guidelines for funders of ngā toi.
Research co-commissioned with Auckland Council mapped the Auckland funding ecosystem for ngā toi – culture, creativity and the arts.
Collaboration with Lagi Maama saw Te Taumata support Tok Tuesdays, a series of online conversations, featuring contributors to The ‘Arts’ of Moana Oceania research.
Innovative thinking for the sector was supported by the commissioning of several thought leadership reports. These included:
We can build a new Utopia, a reimagining of Aotearoa’s post-Covid-19 arts sector
The Future Emerging: Innovation in Arts and Culture in Aotearoa - a series of articles on innovation in arts and culture in Aotearoa.
